I bought this necklace as a DeMario, but it really doesn't look like one, unless it was made very very late. But this signature does look like DeMario, except I can't find another example of one all in lower case as this one is. Can someone please help?

Thank you. I've looked all over the internet--Illusion jewels doesn't have one in lower case, and I couldn't find one anywhere else. Illusion jewels may not have every single hallmark OR it doesn't say demario. Does it look like demario to you? I googled to see if there were jewelry companies close to that name and couldn't find any. The trouble is it doesn't look too much like a DeMario piece--it's a thin choker with rhinestones, no centerpiece.

It looks like demaria to me. If that is correct then it is Italian made costume jewelery from around 1960's.

Thank you so much, everyone! I believe you are absolutely right, fhrjr2, that it is demaria! Would you have any idea of what a necklace in good condition might be worth? I can only find one piece--a beaded bracelet on the internet.

I have been in a position where I am researching a bunch of old jewelery the last few weeks and recalled seeing the demaria name. Yesterday I believe I included the term Italian or Vintage Italian in my search string to find the right items. None were terribly high priced. As I recall it ranged from a low of around $8.50 to a high of $30. Those were asking prices on the sites where items were posted. You might also try putting a space between the e and the m. de maria in a search string. I hadn't tried that but it might get results. Good Luck.
