      wow, just looking at the picture, at first i thought it was an old home steam radiator!!!

      There's a rumour that Burke and James bought up a whole lot of bar counters in top grade mahogany, when bars went out of use during prohibition, and made cameras out of them. Don't know how true it is, but it's a good story.
