Please can anyone help me to identify the origins of this 'Knight's Tomb' inkwell?
I suspect it has some age as there is an old label on the base with a quote from a S.T Coleridge poem and a date '1947' underneath the quote.
The body of the inkwell is gold coloured with a darker base metal showing through from wear. The inside of the lid is lined with red velvet. There are tow glass liners on either side of a small brush. The inkwell is mounted on a dark wooden base with a hand written label, please see photograph for full detail.
I purchased the inkwell a few months ago from a house clearance shop in Islington, London, and I am intrigued to find out more about it and hope you bcan help?
Kind regards
