? Is this Steuben ? I found this in a box of my Mom's stuff from when she moved from Ohio. It is actually a darker green than the picture shows. I have no idea what it is supposed to be used for. I have only been able to find 1 other and it said it was Steuben Glass but called it a compote. I don't see any kind of marks. To me it looks more like it should hold something like a globe or ball. Setting on the base are 2 Seals and the top is curved so I don't think it is a candle holder. I would love to find what sits upon this so any help with this mystery item would be greatly appreciated. I so enjoy a treasure hunt but need some clues.

This is shown in Hazel Weatherman's Book II as an 'unknown' The design is more likely meant to portray birds at a birdbath rather than seals. I highly doubt it is Steuben, as it is nowhere near the quality of Steuben glass.

Thank You Paul71, That was my thoughts as far as it being Steuben. I also thought they were birds but with a closer look they are Seals. They have seal like flipper fins coming from below the body and the sides are smooth instead of regular wings. Great info for my treasure hunt :-)

CLT, Just looked in my Weatherman book, she gave it the name "Marion" bird bath dish. Looks like it could be the base to something. How interesting that they are seals rather than birds.

TY Paul71, I'm on my way to the Library to see what they have in reference books. I appreciate the help :-)

I have found some additional info for this item. Identified as Houze Ivy Glass ball holder. It is pictured on page 3 at http://apps.houzeglassmuseum.com/Gallery/album.cfm?a=18196 , This makes some sense I'll continue to search and look for an Ivy Ball.
