You have a New Haven "Lenore Set" circa 1911.
The catalog price for the set in 1911 was $48. (about $1,100 in 2010). Last appraised by Tran Duy Ly in 2000 at $650. Adjust that for inflation up to 2010 (although the collector's market doesn't really work that way) and you would be looking at around $800 for a set in mint, original condition.
You have a very nice looking set, and though I can't say that it is rare, I think it's safe to say that it is certainly not common. I can't find any auction history for this set online. Perhaps one of the other collectors here can find more information on it.
I think it is definitely worth holding on to. I hope you and your family are able to enjoy it for many generations to come.

thanks so much for bringing a historical insight to this family heirloom.
