    Maybe i am the only one who thinks this might be a post mortem picture...
    The girl has a strange belt around her belly and looks very weak...And her feet (which is difficult to see in this scan) dont look firm on the floor...

      I think that Dad is just trying to get her to stand still.

      I have been collecting antique images for over 20 years and have NEVER seen a standing post mortem.

      Ebay sellers have created the "standing PM" and you will see many on there at any given time.

      Many are IDd as PM due to the metal stand. Actually, the metal stands are very flimsy and wouldn't hold a body. The stands often seen are photographer stands with HEAD CLAMPS in order to keep the subject from moving.

      Yes i have seen that a lot of ebayers try to sell "standing post mortem"...i thought maybe because the child isnt heavy that she could be supported by something... Yes her face does look like the same as her brothers....
