    Someone told me that they thought that this was hand built. I am trying to find out if it is and who the mark belongs to? It is really a nice piece of work, it is different and kinds of grows on you.

      Sure, it looks hand built. That just means that the potter didn't use a potter's wheel, and formed it by hand. I made many such pots when I took ceramics in college. I'm no expert, and don't know many potter's marks, so sorry, I can't help you with identifying it.
