This fabulous little guy is one of only two bufflehead drakes made by decoy carver Peter Pringle, of Dunnville, Ontario. However, the whereabouts of the other one are not currently known. Pringle made 5 buffleheads, as recorded in his carving logs: 2 drakes (#'s 1 and 5) and three hens (#'s 2, 3 and 4), all stamped on the bottom with numbers and initials. This is #1. It is shown and described in the book "Peter M Pringle: Master Decoy Maker" by William Reeve, a descendant of the Pringle family.
Thanks, Knifeguy.
