Inventors tried to cover all the bases with their patents. In many cases several variations were shown on the patent although perhaps only one or two were ever manufactured. Patent #289,207 was issued to Charles Barr of Pittsburg, Pennsylania on November 27, 1883. Photo number 4 is a pint-sized version of photo #3.
1, 2, & 3 are 1 3/4" square and #4 is 1 1/4" square.
