This nifty little ash tray (or change tray) is a souvenir from the 1964 World's Fair in New York City.
A memento from one of the last great global exhibitions, when America was racing to put a man on the moon and manufacturers filled the lives of ordinary people with streamlined, futurist gadgets.
This souvenir shows the NY Port Authority exhibition space and restaurant, topped with a grandiose heliport: "You can fly directly to the Fair from Manhattan in just a few minutes." Of course, you could also drive there in a few minutes too.
Anybody make it to the 1964 World's Fair?
Thanks BELLIN68 and guyfrmatl!
