I found this metal Coca Cola sign at a swap meet in the Salem, OR area.
It measures about 56" x 32" and is in fairly good condition. It's manafacturer and date is in the lower right hand corner "Made in U.S.A. Robertson 5-52". But, as you can see in the photo, the coke bottle was never completed. It seems to be lacking the brown color. It also appears at all the rest of the sign has been completed.
Does anyone know why this sign would have been released in an 'unfinished' condition? And what would the value be in this condition?
    Thanks for your help!

Sorta reminds me of a Warhol.

I was thinking the same nobucks-- maybe this would be a treasure in the modern art market!

I like it much better than if it was finished. Cool sign!

It is kind of cool that you can really see how each layer of color was laid one over the other to achieve the finished product. And yes it does have a sort of 'modern art' look to it. But still wonder how it got into the market place in this condition.
Thanks for all your input, I really find it interesting what others think of this unusual piece.
