I would like to know more about this. My grandmother gave it to me 18 years ago & told me it was my great aunts cigarette case. My aunt was extravagant in her day. She was a bookie, a flapper & sold alcohol underground during the prohibition. The case has no markings or dates. It still shuts & the hinge on the inside still works. It just sits inside my curio. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

My daughter has a case similiar to this, but I am not sure that it is the same thing. Hers is like an enclosed money clip. It is only 1/4" deep. It would hold paper money and the inside hinge kept money from falling out when opened. Hers also has a wood grain cover. Yours is neat, and definitely lookes like it was a souvenir from Florida. I have also seen these, (depending on the size), used as cigarette holders. Hope this helps a little bit ! ThriftyGypsy

      Probably a 1950s souvenir.

My first thought was cigarette case, but the interior metal holder is different from what I typically see in cigarette cases.
