A few of my many interests in collecting. Sorry for the poor pictures, just what I had, hopefully you can see well enough. The soap sign as far as I know is the only copy known from the 1880's. Probably the best earliest Mickey and Minnie Deans rag dolls on the planet with both paper tags and metal buttons. A couple of pictures of my toy cabinets, showing the bright colorful toys of Japan. The stuff that makes all the early morning trips worthwhile.

cdntoyguy, Welcome to Collectors Weekly show and tell. Great collection!! I especially love the soap poster. I collect early advertising and that is a fine piece (wipeing away the drool). I also collect japaneese tin. Nice collection of early Disney.

Thanks for the nice comments on the sign. A bit more information, the lithographer is Toronto lithographing in the 1880's. The gentleman I purchased the sign from, had the original mailer (which he was going to dig out for me), but he passed away before he could. Found in a barn in original mailer, hence the perfect original condition. It is a white dog with the young boy in the tub and the detail of the sign is amazing and the best quality. It is the only known copy of this sign, that I am aware of. I love graphic advertising from the 1880's to about 1930, if anyone ever has anything similar for sale I would love to see a picture.

      Thanks Cdn!

Yes, those days colours were better!

      I forget the process...

Sill these colours are vibrants and great in 2012, wow!

That sure beats the crap painted in 2012! - I say!

Maybe hand paints were added too, on yours partially?

I think all just stone litho, but it does look more like a piece of art, than a printed sign. Sorry for the picture quality, it does not really do the sign justice, but I do not want to start to see copies floating around.

      Thanks Ed!

      I agree with you.

Maybe it was done by co that the Group of 7 was working for?
