I have had this ring for a very long time, I'm not even quite sure where I got it. I hadn't paid much attention to it, because it is a mens ring ( I'm assuming) and because it was just a plain sort of band which is not my usual style ( I'm more artistic ;) ). I finally decided I wanted to look further into the Jewelers stamp and what I found was amazing. I never would have thought this simple little band would have such an artistic, colorful, historic background. From the research I've done I have found out ( and this is my speculation on the info. I found) that it was most likely made in 1950. I think it came from a collection, because the only rings I've seen of DePatta's like this one were from a collection and I believe they were on display in a museum. This is why I would like some help if anyone knows any information on this ring please let me know I would appreciate it. Thank You
How lucky to have a piece by De Patta. I'm sure there are mid-century experts out there in the forum, but why not try to contact the museum that is currently exhibiting her work? It's a great opportunity to tap into the scholarship surrounding her exhibition at Oakland Museum, and you will probably find them very helpful or at least get a new lead. Ordering the catalogue will also give you a reference point for your ring, which from a quick look through the online pics seems to be a more exciting example of her work. Good Luck & Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for your comments and suggestions, I think maybe I will get in touch with the OACM and ask some questions. I have just been so busy lately that I was hoping maybe this post would do all the work for me and by the time I could finally sit down and do some research I would have some more information lol. Although we all know that anything worth doing is worth doing right. So again thank you for all the help.
