This gorgeous wood, black and gold 1928 White FamilyRotary sewing machine is fully functionable. All of the gold detailing is hand done, with the 1929 being the last year's model to be so finely adorned. I found this at a thrift store and checked regularly for 3 weeks to make sure nobody had bought it. Then I went back and bought it when it was at 50% off....... I paid $30 plus tax!
I have three White Rotary machines . Two are just like this one . The other one is a treadle machine . They are good machines and you got a very good deal .
I just bought my machine but it did not come with a manual. Can you explain how to thread it and does it require a belt?
Kim : I do not know if I can explain how to thread it here or not . It helps to have pictures as a guide . I may have a manual here for this machine I will have to look and see to be sure . When I have the time I will check and then get back to you .

The gold detailing is not hand done :( - they are from transfer sheets applied by hand I guess :) They are pretty though.
I just got a White treadle machine to restore. I don't have a manual for it and Ai am guessing it is pre 1930. It has the ornate gold work on it and carved wooden table. Any ideas where I can get a manual?
OK upon closer inspection I found the serial number 1746358
I took some photos of pre renovation to upload on the Show and Tell page.
I also found a very old manual which is missing a few pages. Some pages are the same as the link you provided above.

The belt is broken but was in a drawer.
I got it for $200AUD.
