I just got this Northern Electric Galion phone - dated 9/11/1950. Paid $50 for it - Love the look of it! Just can't get it to ring!

Requires much more voltage through today's non-existent phone jack's of yesteryear. Good Luck!
I think I'll give up on getting it to ring. At least it looks nice!
Perhaps I wasn't clear. Today's voltage coming through a typical phone jack does not carry enough voltage to RING the bells on yester-years phones. Phones such as yours and mine require heavier voltage feeds. (Todays phones can be powered by optical voltages which are carried by light pipe and extremely low-powered).
There is a possibility of connecting a 6 volt or 12 volt power supply, (battery), to the ringers and the bells might ring - at least you can hear them. You might find an old school tech who might develop a switch that could activate the battery supplied bell ringers, however. That way the bells would ring when you received a call.
