This is my National Hand Crank "DUCHESS" early sewing machine Model Expert B.T. which was made from the early 1900's into the 1920's.Unfortunatly the company's production records have been destroyed so getting an actual date of manufacture is not possible. (If there is somebody out there with m ore info , please feel free in pass it on.)
She still in good working order and stitches like a dream.

I think I have the same one! I have been trying to find out more about it since it doesn't have the brand or model. Does yours have a "tree of life" engraving on the side of the case as well? Does yours say "Made in USA"?

Wow, Very interesting.... We just found a IDENTICAL machine badged with the name SPENCER and made in the USA . The box/case has no name on it but has a carved tree of life? On each end of it. The number on the machine is 2225757
I believe the Davis Company and A,G Mason company Both badged the name SPENCER..... Nice Machine - I would love to know more history about it and yours. Cheers!

I have the same machine. Looking for the bobbin winder mechanism. Any chance you could send me a very close picture of just that part? Mainly how it attaches to the machine?
      Thanks

logged in to victorian sweatshop, found manual. It's helpful to a point but my challenge now is getting the bobbin in to the machine. I'll have to play with it for a while. I have found the correct bobbin winder, thanks to you.
