In Kenneth Cope's book, Kitchen Collectibles, there is short section on the James Frary company of Meriden, Connecticut. According to the text, the company was in operation from 1888 until Frary's death in 1890. Rather a short time, for corkscrew production, but variations of Frary corkscrews do show up. While no maker's mark generally appears on Frary corkscrews, unless it is the Frary bar screw (which I am interested in acquiring) the distinctive cast iron handles and shapes are very telling.
