Today I would like to share several unused 1937 steamship items from the Red Star Line. There are several baggage stickers, baggage tags, and stateroom stickers. As you can see from the enclosed letter, this voyage was on the steamship “Pennland”.
Builder: Harloff & Wolff: Belfast, Ireland, 1922.
Routes: Antwerp-Southampton-NY.
Passengers: 1st class-100, 3th class-750.
Machinery: Triple screw, 16 knots, two masts, two funnels.
History: Liner sold to Arnold Bernstein's Red Star Line GmBH 1935. Converted to tourist class ship with 538 passengers. Resold to Holland America 1939. Bombed and sunk by German aircraft in Gulf of Athens, April 25, 1941, while evacuating British soldiers.

hea packrat, seems like i just (not to long ago) this collection,or one very similar to it on a "antiques roadshow" . Not sure if it was the american or british version of the show . if its the british vertion, could have been a re-run from up to 25 yrs ago. I cant remember, damn 70s&80s, umm , what were we talkin about again!!lol
