Pic 1 & 2 are a set with service number on back. Pic 3 & 4 are front and back of a single tag with name, number on front and number on back. Were these the ones refered to as dough boys? I posted as WWII. Am I correct? Thanks and enjoy.
I believe these are WWI era dog tags....
Agree, they are definite WW1 era.
IF I am reading the first three numbers correctly "172", then they were in the early issue of FEB/ MAR 1918 that went to Camp Upton NY for the 77th Division.

Thanks tlmbaran and scottvez. We have a consensus. I kinda thought they were WWI also, but not anything to pin it down. 172 is correct and 201 on the single. I posted some early pins ect. but CW deleted it because of my picture taking skills. Will repost them.
