Happy Easter everyone! This fella is directly from Easter Island. He is made from a local artisan from the same porous stone as the iconic big fellas. They represent the native's ancestors and are considered sacred.
The famous ones that you see in most pictures have lost their hats, and are buried up to their navels or further...just from time.
One of my more fun souvenirs from my trips!
Sure do, just getting unpacked and everyone back on track. Getting there!
You are welcome and thanks btatjdd!
Sure beats bunnies!
Hahaha! You crack me up V!
Amber, very cool but must've been an 'extra' on the traveling weight huh?...Anyway, I saw a post you made on another item, and you mentioned that you were on your way to Vegas and might stop by Pawn Stars store. My wife and I did just that last May, but sadly it is more of a TV production location than a pawn shop. We were not able to enter the sacred ground of the inner sanctum due to preparation for filming, the downside to fame as I'm sure the Harrisons' know well. Another of our favorite pastimes, storage auctions, has been decimated by 'reality tv' Storage Wars. With these changes, it has actually made the American antique store a more viable source for unique treasures, and a forum where haggling a deal is still possible. One thing that I must mention, Mike & Frank of American Pickers have hit a home run so to speak with their mantra of "putting things in their place"....
Thanks for all your posts!

Very cool Amber but don't you remember what happened to Greg when he wore a smaller version as a necklace ?
Thank you SLO. I agree with you and can add that Antiques Roadshow made everyone think that anything old is worth a million dollars. I adore thrifting and continuing my education by reading this site and others. The learning process, realizing that you found or passed on a treasure is half the fun!
HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!
