(310 items)
Today I would like to share a token and a medal.
The token I dug with a metal detector. On one side it says “Shell, Traum – Elf 1969”, and on the other side it says “Karl – Heinz Schnellinger.
I had to do a little research on this one.
“Karl-Heinz Schnellinger (born 31 March 1939 in Duren is a former German footballer He was one of the world's best defenders for a decade in the 1960s. He was nicknamed the "Volkswagen" for his continuity of performance, both in quantity and in quality. In his prime he was usually considered one the best leftbacks in the world.”
“Traum-Elf” translates to “Dream-Eleven”. He won the German championship with 1. FC Koln in 1962, and was awarded the German footballer of the year, performed superb in the World Cup and was subsequently named in the World Cup Dream-Team 11
The next item is a Abraham Lincoln Centennial Medal, 1809-1909. On the back it says “Presented By The Boston Sunday American”. There seems to be quite a few different varities of this out there.
This item was in the bottom of a box of items I bought at a garage sale.
enjoy
I love them both and also enjoy and appreciate the research you have done.
I never intended collecting such things but I have a wooden box full of them from metal detecting and cleaning out houses years ago.
fhrjr2, post them, we all would enjoy them.
Thank you very much fhrjr2 & BELLIN68 for visiting and the kind words.
I will post up my favorite in a few minutes. My second favorite is in the box. It is from a playboy club. No pic's of the others yet.
Thank you very much kerry10456 & pickingupbones, appreciate it.
