My parents recently gave me this engraved glass jar and I don't know anything about it. There are no marks of any kind but it does look hand made. There are irregularities where the handle attaches to the jar. The glass is green in color and has many tiny bubbles throughout.

I am interested to see if anyone has any information regarding this type of jar. I can't seem to find anything resembling this on the Internet.

    Many Thanks

I think this is what is referred to as a Mary Gregory piece. I recently style design and didn't know what it was called until recently. Your piece looks very old and looks to be one of the originals.

Good grief- what did I say? lol. Never type when groggy. I MEANT to say that I recently found a claret jug or pitcher with this design on it and after researching found that it's called Mary Gregory glass.

Is the design etched or enamelled?.. because if I am not mistaken (and please someone correct me if I am) Mary Gregory was enamelled, and hand painted on each item.
