I bought this item at a small shop in Bastrop Texas
I mainly found this neat because my grandfather background is german.
I began to do some research on this item and found it was quite difficult and only around 350 were made
I would love to find out if this is a valuable item along with being a treasure of history.

Check out this site, they have a pair for $89.99...

I did find one other site that had a single plate for $25.00 so that gives you a couple of figures. Try to Google your heading and you will find 477,000 hits.

The 1961 US Forces In Germany plates were issued to every GI who drove a personal vehicle in Germany. What makes the license plate some what difficult to find is that the plates were to be returned to the military when the new plates were issued in 1962. The 1962 plates were red with white lettering and only the words U.S.A. across the top. When I was stationed in Germany, I had bought a VW bug that had the 1961 U.S. Forces Plates. I still have the plates today.
