This was found in my grandmas house. I remember them being on the wall at the house. When tearing the old house down we found two in the attic still in the box and one mounted on the roof truss.

Maybe this could help. Just didn't want to take them out of the box

Years ago my wife and I moved into an older home that had these attached to the kitchen walls. They were filled with some kind of liquid and if a fire broke out a person was to smash the glass on the flame.

The house is over 100 years old and I guess they used them in the attic for fire suppression. One was on the roof joist by the chimney in the attic.

The liquid is most likely carbon tet, nasty stuff. Are these full? Does it say what is in them?

Will do some more research and get back on the contents. One is full and one empty. Took one out of the box and was empty.

The majority of grenade type extinguishers from that era did have the carbon tet. Those are very nice.

if it is carbon tet, you might find this interesting.
