I want to build a base for this piece I found at an estate sale.
Can someone tell me more about what it is exactly?
I think it is a buffet top, or a dresser.
There was a mirror in it once, so I will get a new beveled mirror cut for it.
It seems like a buffet at 36" tall is too short for a mirror for people. That’s why I think it might be a dresser top also.
    It is 43 1/2w x 12d x 24h.
    Thanks for looking.

Looks to me like the top off of an old parlor organ.

I think YardSaleDave is probably right. A friend of mine had one years ago and it had an ornate top piece with a mirror in the center. I just did a Google image search for "Victorian pump organ" and saw a couple like it.
