This is a doll that I would love to know who she is and the history behind her. She has a 929 on the back of her head. She was a doll from my sister's collection. So far, no luck. Any information will be helpful.

Oh you have a very good doll ! She has a closed mouth , Bisque head on a composition jointed body , Mold 929 is associated with Simon & Halbig, S & H, was founded in 1839, they began making dolls from 1869 to 1920 in their two porcelain factories in Frafenhain and Hidburghausen, near Thuringia, Germany in 1920 they were bought by Kämmer & Reinhardt, who continued to produce dolls until 1932.

Simon & Halbig was known for the fine bisque doll heads and innovation in the doll industry, thus, they also supplied doll heads to many other well known doll manufacturers, that then attached to their own made body.

How tall is she that would help to ID her better . You should see something beside numbers under hair or further down her neck . Can you photo back of her head for me ?

Thanks for the information. I included a pic of the back of her head. She stands about 12 inches tall. Thanks so much.

Yes I see the S&H for simon hailbig on her head so I was right . She is called a cabinet size because collectors can easily fit them in a closed display cabinet . She is valuable and if she has no cracks in her head and being all original she is a winner ! I don't dish out compliments on dolls unless they earn it and she is a very good one . You would very pleased to know her value !Love her love her !!!!!!!!!!!! She dates from about 1880 's

Hold unto your hat ! Here is a link I can show of one going up for auction soon at a auction see the open and expected selling price . Tag this auction and watch her sell . Also remember the buyer has to pay a bidders fee usually about 18% of selling price on top of what she sells for plus shipping unless she is bought in house vs and online bidder . Then they still pay buyers premium of 18% but no shipping . Are you sitting down now :-)

I knew her face when I saw her :-) After seeing thousands of dolls some stand out and yours did for sure . Just beautiful and a word I don't use often very hard to find fringes on rare and I never use that word :-)
