We found this 7" metal globe at one of the local flea markets in PA, years ago. We have been trying to find out more about it but havent had much luck. We think it might be from the early 1930's because Iran is labeled Persia which didnt change till 1935. It has a metal circular frame with ruler numbers on it and the base has the seasons, months, solstice and equinox marks and horoscope signs spelled out. We think this was perhaps a school globe but would like to know more. We love the color and patina it has acquired over the years.

I have this exact same globe, I'm sure it was a school globe. I'll check when I get home. Mine is in slightly better condition, maybe there's some markings.

I have one on my desk. They were made in 1930-31 by Scholastic. Got mine on E-bay, but have seen one in an online store for $250. They lines going across the oceans were the routes of famous flights up to that point like Lindhberg and the Graf Zeppelin crossing the globe. Very cool.
