I acquired my 58 pc set in Misawa, Japan in 1988, knowing it was an obsolete set, however I didn't realize at the time that I would never be able to locate another like it -- even from the Noritake sites! While Noritake says they did indeed make it, they said it was only made for about three years and only in Japan, so the amount of sets out there is extremely limited and the value is unknown at this time, although Noritake indicated that it is worth a good deal due to its rarity. Unfortunately, it is missing a single piece out of a 58 piece set -- a bowl -- and there may be a chip in one other piece, although I need to check to be certain. I took this set all over the world with me, shipping it from place to place without knowing how valuable it actually was. I almost faint at the thought of that now, and you can understand why I am missing one piece if you imagine that I lived in England and Australia after purchasing the set, as well as living in various places in the US! It's a wonder I have as much as I do, actually, and in the fabulous condition it is in! If anyone has any kind of inkling of its true worth, I would love to know. Feel free to contact me at char.ffusa@gmail.com if you have one like it or know its value -- and please, let me know where you got yours. I got mine in a small shop in Misawa off of Greenpole Road near the military base, but the exact location eludes me.
if you go to replacements.com, you can find it there. However, for its worth, I have a beutiful Noritake set from the early 1930's (12 place setting of 109 pcs!)worth over a thousand dollars, but could not sell it for a hundred. The set mey be worth a lot, but selling it as a set probably won't happen. I would say just admire it for its beuty, and forget about the dollar figure.
As a reply to researcher -- it is not on replacements.com. I have looked there. I have emailed Noritake even, and they do not have it, although they acknowledge it was made by them between 1985 and 1988 and it is extremely rare as only a limited number was manufactured. They recommended I post at this site to see if anyone else had any, or to provide appraisal recommendations. Obviously, if it was as simple as going to replacements.com, I would not have posted here, to be sure :o) I'm not really looking to sell it, however I still would enjoy knowing what it's worth. I currently have it displayed in my curio cabinet and would one day like to will it to my son.
