I found this old saddle in the back of my husbands shed after he passed away. I really bypassed it not wanting to mess with it, but one day I found some leather cleaner and oil so I was wiping it down and I find this brass plate under a leather flap that was a repair tag from 1926. I would just like some info on this if any one knows even the tiniest thing. It also had a piece of cloth tape right above it, could of been a label of sorts.

Looks to me like a WWI era US CAVALRY Officers Saddle......

Thank you very much. I have been wondering about this saddle for a long time. So dusty and dirty.

Try searching Phillips and Mclellan cavalry saddles. This is most certainly some sort of cavalry saddle. The repair plate is referring to the Jeffersonville Quartemaster Intermediate Depot.
