    Laimdots Murnieks born in 1922.23.V

    1940 – 1944 Teachers Institute in Jelgava

    1953 – graduating Art Academy of Latvia by guidance V. Kozins.

    1953 – 1982 – artist union “Maksla”

    The member of Latvian Artists union since 1957.

    L. Murnieks takes part in exhibitions since 1953.

    Artist managed the Studio of Painting at Latvian Artist union and was active at social life.

    Exhibitions:

    Riga – 1960, 1964, 1972 (together with I. and G. Krollis);

    Liepaja – 1964;

    Vilnius – 1968;

    Moscow – 1968;

    Rostock – 1974;

    Tokyo – 1978 (together with Marc Chagall).

    Artist work in different painting genres and techniques, painted landscapes, still-life, portraits.

    Awards:

    1967 – awarding with diploma Artists union of USSR by paintings at International exhibition “The Sport at Art”

    1969 – laureate of painting at Baltic Republicanian triennial

    1979 - was rich of merits employee of art in Latvia Republic of Soviet Union

    1969 – award with medal

      My family met Murníeks family in 1967-1969 an we bacame friends. After the Soviet ocupation of Czechoslovakia, we lost connestion. Do you have please som contact to Laimdot Murnieks and his family? We have also 3 pictures of him, two portraits and one very big, about 1x1,5 m - Willows and Sun. Yours, Jaroslav
