Just snagged this on Ebay last week and was the only bidder (which amazes me). This is a purple felt pennant for Paul Whiteman, the biggest band leader of the 1920's and early 1930's. The pennant is over 2 feet in length and is in great shape. I have no idea if this was a promotional advertising piece from one of his record labels (Victor or Columbia) or if it was something a fan could buy at a concert. The photo does it an injustice, as the purple is really bright and the white parts are far whiter than the yellowish color they appear as there. It's a treasure, and yet another amazing Paul Whiteman piece for my collection.
wow! congratulations on this very cool treasure!
