Amelia Edith Huddleston Barr, and English lady born in 1831, wrote quite a number of books. She even has a wikipedia article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amelia_Edith_Huddleston_Barr.
Full scan of Song of a Single Note here: http://www.archive.org/details/asongasinglenot00barrgoog. The book had at least 8 editions, so it was pretty popular at some time. Book available in the 1902 edition from multiple sources online under $10. Looks like yours is in great shape! Now, the real question... is the book any good?

You must read the life story about Amelia Barr....absolutely amazing woman. She lived locally in Cornwall, New York. Her books are special as a local author to our small town. You have a wonderul find there and especially from the thrift store. A good place to haunt for old books. Have you thought of collecting old books written by women of the 1800's? Their worries are the same as women of today.
A first edition! Fantastic.
Thank You for your wonderful comments. It is a wonderful book.
