Awesome. That is more than likely a hand made one off creation. I love the use of bicycle chain for the tracks.

I absolutely love this! My kind of item, for sure.

If this didn't have the turret on it, I'd be inclined to say around WWI. The hull very much resembles a MK IV, but it is missing the predominant sponson guns. With the turret added, it is either trying to be a Renault FT or is representing a later model altogether (Char B1 and the like with significant hull guns, no sponsons, and a turret are a good possibility).

I'd say inter-war, probably early 20s. Do you have any history for the item, where you got it, or any provenance?

It was part of a collection of trench art my friend got. He was supposedly a pretty advanced collector. No history though. It just seemed to speak to me. Years ago I collected Elastolin and Lineol composition soldiers. This should work with them. My pal said it weighs eight pounds. Heavy.

The scale looks like it might work well with the toy soldiers of the day. It is possible that this is simply a toy, though a very cool toy at that. German Composition is like American lead, so much variety! I just collect the tin vehicles and try not to worry about the soldiers, since they are a field of collecting all of their own.

If this is what you start with, I'd love to see what else you have. You don't need to look at my listings for too long to figure out what I'm into ;)

By the way, welcome to CW!

It's not bicycle chain, it's 2 row industrial chain, possibly # 40, can't tell for sure without a measurement of pin spacing.

I posted a photo of one of my Lineol Bunkers with a bunch of guys goofing off. If I have a tank most likely they'll be eating and smoking on it and not fighting.

Looks like they will both look good together. Nice pieces.
