Just bought this book at the thrift store for $1.99. There is only a copyright date - 1959 by Glidrose Productions Ltd. and Macmillan is on the spine. Is this a book club edition? Why doesn't it have an ISBN #? Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks!

ISBN wasn't thought of yet in 59.

The original was published in the UK so you may want to do some research. The reference to Plomer was a dedication.

Thanks. I'll do some more research. I only looked on Ebay but didn't see a copy like this one.

eBay is not a research site and it is also useless for actual values. You will see lots of different printings of this. You could get dizzy just looking through all the different dust covers. Researching it will satisfy your needs.
