different from the other one I just posted...but like it too. Again, would like to use on a covered porch outside. Needs to be re-wired. Would I be nuts to paint it? I don't know much and hate to mess up something. Any ideas on history? Looks mid-century to me?

swag lamps like this and your other one were popular back around the 1970s. If you plan on installing them outdoors try to get some silicon around where the wire enters the fixture to keep out water. I'd say paint it if it makes you happy!

Thanks! I really appreciate the advise about the silicon.....I will research and make sure I do that!
