I received this buckle in a box of junk I bought several years ago at an auction. This was not the focus of my attention in the box but I think it out shined everything else in the container.
I know nothing of the artist and have tried to find some information but I always end up at a retail shop selling buckles made by someone else.
I like wearing this buckle but have become scared of losing a piece from the mosaic.
Very nice buckle I love it . It looks Native Indian made
Thank you everyone for all the loves.
Hey, Mrmajestic, The belt Buckle is Zuni, New Mexico, Rouf, I would suggest that you look under the Native American Art Council Of Zuni Registration, In New Mexico.
As to the piece it, looks like it is made of wood material with a piece of King's mine turquoise cut to be in the shape of the harvest full moon. The hills are representative of the The Sangre de Cristo Mountain range, in NM, The off branch of the Rocky Mountain range, Hope this helps Mike, Thanks for the post to the bottles, I found another cover, God Bless
Thanks for the interest KeepSakes. I'll try to do my homework with what you suggested.
gotta luv the torquise? "moon"against the dark wood inlay!
Thanks mikielikesigns2
