I have found Time magazines from 1937 - 1941 and have no idea what they are worth? years 1940 and 1941 have every issue. Can anyone direct me to someone who can tell me what they are worth or if they are worth anything?
They are probably worth about $5 each. I have a lot of them, and haven't found the value to be very high. They make a nice addition to your library!
There are a few that have a little higher value, for example, the JFK assassination issue.
Your best bet is to check eBay and see what the particular issues you have are going for. (Just remember, they only have the value if they are actually SOLD. Anyone can attach any value to anything, but what they get for it depends on what people are willing to pay).
I agree with stef, I would keep the full years together tho.
I completely agree. While they are quite interesting, great ads, etc., minimal value. Condition is everything. Consecutive runs worth a little more. There are people on ebay who make a living cutting up old magazines for the ads, and Life mags had some wonderful full page auto ads. The old ads and some covers do look great framed.
The Joe Di Maggio Chesterfield & Camel cigarette ads from the 1938-50 era are worth a little more then most ads, dependition on condition.
That's a good point! On issues you don't want, you could probably make more by cutting out the desirable ads & selling those!
You know, you really should correct your headline... it looks like you have LIFE magazines, not TIME magazines!
