I got these very cheaply from Sweden... one of those great items no one bids for... lucky me! :)

I am pretty sure it's 1930s as I have seen pretty simmilar designs from Orrefors from the same time, only the "acid frosting" looks different here, almost as it had been applied with a piece of cloth.

Although the shaker is made of thick glass (for use reassons I guess as it had to be shaked with ice inside), the glasses are really fine and delicate, made of really thin walls.

I am so happy to have found out who designed this set: Elis Bergh for Kosta, most probably in the 1930s.

According to Bukowski's website, ELIS BERGH, Sweden (1881-1954, his full name being Hagbart Elias Bergh), was a Swedish designer, who between years 1928-1950 was artistic director of the Kosta glassworks. His career began as an architect, and it was in this profession that he first came into contact with the glass art. This is when he got an interior design projects of just Kosta Glassworks. Elis Bergh has designs include the many popular glass tableware, such as the famous "Karlberg," but also items such as vases and other ornaments.

I have been able to identify this cocktail shaker at last! And i did it in the most sudden of ways... surfing the net! I was looking for a particlar kind of decanter when suddenly I see one just like mine... with the original sticker KOSTA SWEDEN BERGH CRISTALL on! (god bless whoever owned this and never used it!) Later, googling for Elis Bergh I run into a picture of another decanter with a glass that's very simmilar to the ones I've got. There is no doubt now: I own an Elis Bergh cocktail saker! ;)
