Kit Cat clocks - also known as Kit Kat or Felix clocks - have been around since the 1930s and have deservedly acquired the status of American icon. Original early examples are popular with collectors, however many people today like to buy a new version simply because it is a nostalgic and cheerful item.
The Kit Cat Clock was originally designed during the Great Depression of the '30s and can be seen as a reaction to the mood of the times. These had a constant smile, wagging tail and rolling eyes it was a symbol of cheerful defiance that shaped the childhood of many Americans.

Your Clock is sold by Target Stores, Bed Bath and Beyond, and other stores. There is another model where the cat is sitting in the clock looking out of the clock face and it's tail is hanging below the dial. They also make an Oval model of both. These are still in production. I recently ran across some of these in Austin TX in a boutique.
