    (584 items)

There's been a little controversy about this item, and I want to thank Aaron Probyn himself for leaving a message explaining that he didn't design the first BERLIN bottles, although he did redesigned it later, when the small size was made.

The BERLIN range was first off for sale at Habitat in the mid 2000s (second and third pictures). I guess it was a succesful item as for several years it was included in the diffrent collections and, in every season, with a different colour. As Aaron himself pointed out, it was bought off the shelf from a factory in Thailand.

The real Probyn design, or re-design, here is the one in the first picture. I couldn't understand at first the reason for the change of shape, but now we know.

So folks, forget all about plagiarism and so on: the Nanny Still looking jug isn't Probyn's design!!!!

Still, many of them are put on auction on ebay as Nanny Still's koristepullos. I always contact the seller to tell them it's not a Nanny Still item... some will answer and change the text, others (most of them) will just delete my message.

And one more thing: when you read the bad comments on the bottle or designer pleace realice they were made thinking of the sharper shouldered design, WHICH IS NOT Probyn's.

Aaron Probyn should stick to making furniture ;-)

haha! He's not a bad designer, but I guess he was "forced" to design glass, being the responsible for tabletop design for 6 years at habitat... But there's no doubt he searched for inspiration in Nanny Still

By the way, I couldn't help thinking of Still's MANGO cutlery when Isaw Probyn's Normann one for Normann Copenhage.

I know he's a good designer but this has plagiarism written all over it.
But other than that I like his designs and a lot of other Habitat design(er)s for that matter.
I have quite a few Habitat vases. My favorite ones are the Kathy Dalwood "Setsquares" vases and tiles. Got them for cheap when the Habitat store in Valencia was moving from colón to marques del turia. ;-)

      Aaron, here

I didn't even design the first glass bottle with the sharper shoulder, it was bought off the shelf from a factory in Thailand. As you will see, the latter bottle was redesigned by myself.

Hi Aaron, thanks so much for your feedback. At some point is a very good thing you didn't designed them (you know, all this thing about plagiarism and so on).

So I am changing the whole post and although I don't want to delete any comments I'll explain why they were made.

      Again, thanks for your comment!

Hi Amber! I've been very busy with a) my french klessons, b) researching for the Webb & Sons vase. I have to admit I am more thrilled about the vase than the French lessons LOL but I've been checking you all out! Next month I will set the photo-studio in my livingroom again and take more pics of my collection and the very exciting latest additions!
