this was my fathers lamp. i have never seen another like it. it must weigh 20 pounds!! would love to know the history of this lamp. On the lamp it says old Ironside and then underneath that it says USS Constitution. There are no other markings that i can see. Underneath the lamp is just like a felt bottom no names or markings.
What does it say on front Old ironside ? Then something under it . Can you put the words in the description that are on lamp ? The ship Old Iron side is painted in port hole I can see that
The ship called Old ironside was named USS Constitution it is a wooden-hulled, three-masted heavy frigate of the United States Navy. Named by President George Washington after the Constitution of the United States of America, she is the world's oldest commissioned naval vessel afloat' .
very nice lamp but makers name should be on it maybe under base look also .
I dont know where else to look for the maker of the lamp and i have tried to find another one like it on line but couldnt. thats why i hoped show and tell could help me. Thank you for your comment. It made me excited to know someone else appreciates this lamp like i do.
