Blime! u bloody blokes from the continent, after chips, would u send us commoners in the states a tele.? My mother was born in London, & met my dad at one of the MANY allied sponsered dances that were preformed to give the american 8thA.F. soldiers something to think about other than being shot down & killed. After the war, (not sure how many years) her father sent my dad this hood ornament (i assume). It reads :crowned may 1937 E R v111 . The back says : smiths : M9 . There is a old cloth tag that says"this was sold at the home "duke of windsor-abdicated" P.T.O. ????????????? if it helps , Top Gear rocks!! After posting this, i went to put it back in the closet & when i did i found the original envelop use to ship in here to the states. Check out the next posting for pictures & details. Thanks Mikie

This was the home of Gerald Lascelles from 1956 to 1975. He was an interesting character with Links to the British Racing Drivers Club.

Yes vetraio, it does say "M9" on the back, with 3-(flag-pole) holes, like the one you found on worthpoint. That mascot was really nice, and very similar. After studing the envelop and attached note, im not completely sure that it went with this item, i think the note was meant to describe the envelop that was with it. Ill post those items so you can see. Also, the tag on the mascot simply reads Quote: I think you might be interested in this.It was sold at the home "Duke of Windsor" abdicated P.T.O. What do u think the "P.T.O." stands for? Thank you for your help, now i know they do sell items from the 1st. family.
