Thanks Manikin and officialfuel for the 'love'.
geo26e, these are some very nice pieces, The middle 2 are some of my favorite Bradley's, and some of the hardest to find. I've gotta say, You've got one on me now, I don't have the The last one, and I'm really jelious now. ;-).. Again fantastic pieces and thanks so much for sharing.
Thanks for the 'love' AR8Jason.
Hi Kerry, thank you for your kind compliments. To have 'one on Kerry' when it comes to Micky Mouse watches is almost an impossible mission! The Bradley on the right was actually a factory prototype that did not make it to production (between 8-10 pieces were made). Bradley wanted to test the market with an adult size watch but orders from retailers were to low (due to proposed high retail price) to justify production. The Minnie Mouse on the dial is enameled with bobbing head at 6.00. I believe there is another prototype version with the reverse arrangement, namely, Mickey on the dial with bobbing Minnie.
Thank you remote.
Now I've got to do some searching, I need to find 1 of the 8-10, lol. I was down to only missing 1 Mickey watch, but it seems now back to 2 . Again thanks for sharing.
BTW, when and if the 4th one is every for sale, would love first shot at it.
geo26e, I've been doing some research, and I believe that #4, might be the first time that Mickey and Minnie were on the same watch dial. The first time that both would have been on the same watch, would be the 1938 "Charm" Mickey. A Minnie charm was on one side and aMickey charm was on the other side of the braclet band. The watch #3 would date 1980, btw
I've posted the production model of your proto-type Minnie(#4). Here's the link, hope you enjoy seeing the two different styles,(yours and mine)

Hello George, I wanted to ask you something. We seem to share an interest in a lot of same pieces. And with that said , my question is have you every seen another one of these "animated" watches?

Take a peek and let me know. Regards Kerry
Hi Kerry, I have send you an e mail regarding your Cinderella watch. Hope the info helps. Regards.
Thank you George, I've looked at that page in the book also, and never noticed the similar features. Thanks again for your insight.
Hi there, I actually have the Minnie Nodding watch and was wondering if it is true that only 350 were made. I was also wondering the value of the watch for insurance purposes.
I'll jump in on this , according to the reference books, there were only 350 produced. The condition of your piece is the largest factor as to it's value. If it's mint and you have the box, tags and paperwork they've brought around $300 US Dollars and might bring more on a good day, up to $450-500. If yours is used and fair to good condition and working, around 50-100 tops, but likely 25-75 on any giving day. Again the condition, color fade and overall appearance is what will determine the value.
Kerry, another question regarding the 350 pieces mentioned in the reference book. Do you think it is 350 pieces of nodding Minnie or 350 pieces to includeMickey, disco, Mickey with Pluto?
I believe it's just the nodder Minnie, the proto Minnie is probably less than 10 and the Disco I seen around 100 or so sold over the years.
George, forgot to add, The pluto animated piece is also one of those "Ultra" rare pieces, don't know how many were made, but haven't seen but three in all the years I've been collecting.
Kerry, I agree. Have never seen a Mickey with nodding Pluto before. Have you got one in your collection?
Love these Bradley watches! I have a few of the Mickey & Pluto and will try to post some pics soon. My favorite is the nodding head Big Bird. I have the original Bradley concept art for the nodding head Cookie Monster and will post it too.
Thanks for sharing photos of items in your collection!
Sorry for bumping old posts, but I am new here and catching up on all of these great posts!
Crazycharacter, Speaking for myself, I will be looking forward to your postings and that bumping "Older" post always opens them back up for discussion, I've only seen 3 of the Pluto/Mickey nodders and never seen the Cookie Monster. These sound great. Got my blood a moving, lol. will be watching for them
kerry10456, I hope to get something listed tonight. Trying to learn the site and how to post my items now....
I'm sure you'll get the hang quickly, if not just send me an email at kerry10456@yahoo.com and I try to give you a few pointers.
Thanks Dave, vanskyock and crazy character for the appreciation.
What reference book states only 350 of Minnie were made?
Adam, page 162 of the Brown and Thomas book, "Comic Character Timepieces" "Seven Decades Of Memories" is one, I have in memory, there is reference in anothers, if I recall correctly. Will investigate
Thanks. Never noticed that before. I could see 350 for the Disco or Pluto, but would strongly disagree with only that many of Minnie. I wonder where they got that information from.
Thank you Aima & Dave for checking out my old posts! Very much appreciated!
Kerry,
What Cinderella watch did you have posted? The link doesn't work anymore.
George,
Any chance you could take a picture of the movement in the 4th watch?
Thanks,
Adam
Adam, I have send you an e mail.
