My Dad passed away in 1986 and his Watch was passed on to me with the poem. Hamilton watches were all Railroad grade and he was very proud to own one. According to the serial #2301189it was made in the late 40's. My first memory of it was when he dropped his watch off the Vickery Street Bridge in Ft Worth. I have the old damaged case, however I think it was dropped in the mid 50's and he bought another. I do have a repair bill dated 1958. If it survived the drop it is one tough watch. Model 992 21 Jewels 10k gold filled Keystone J Boss case. He worked 30 yrs for the Texas & Pacific RR and a few yrs for the Cotton Belt line. I'll pass it to my son byt hopefully not soon.
Great story! Love the poem and the watch!! Thanks for sharing...
