Don't know how old this is (it is called vintage on some sites). I kept it for years because I've always liked it. The back is embossed with:
Nadinola cream
a complexion beautifier
National Toilet Co.
Paris, Tenn. U.S.A.
Hi, have never seen this piece. I used to collect milk glass Easter and covered animal dishes, and never did I see this piece. Exciting!
Thanks miKKo....... I wasn't sure if this was considered milk glass. I did notice someone had posted one on Ebay. I can't believe that at one time mfgs. spent the outlay on such a durable item.
Thanks BELLIN68.
I have one also it still has the paper on the lid and sides. and has the box .... can anyone tell me what it's worth
meme I have seen this on ebay for a small amount but never complete like yours.
I have found the same Item that you have listed. I would like to learn more about iy. on mine under the lid it has 1885 1/2. not sure if that is a date or what. I have been told that at some point Johnson & Johnson Co. bought National Toilet Co. Im not sure if that is true.
Blbailey97.. I have found a mark under the lid of mine also. It appears to be a pagoda type symbol (this could be a Greek letter?) over an A. Maybe a manufacturer's mark? I just don't know enough about these items to offer any knowledge. Thanks for the comment.
Hi, mrmajestic1, Blbailey97b1965, and meme!
Mrmajestic1, I hope you're doing well. I have no intelligent opinion on this attractive little milk glass box, but I can provide a link to a chart of Greek letters. : )

Thank you miKKo. Doing real well here and hope you are the same.
Checked out the url you gave me and I thank you for it. I'm leaning towards that symbol being 'pi'.
Thank you, mrmajestic!, I am well!
I just found your box. This milk glass box was made for Nadinola cream by the Hazel Atlas Company. The interior of the lid should have the Hazel Atlas hallmark, and the example I have found also has the numbers 1885. The bottom of the box bears the following words in raised letters: Nadinola Cream, A Complexion Beautifier, National Toilet Co., Parris, Tenn. U.S.A. Follows a link to the eBay item in which I found this information and another link to an image of the Hazel Atlas hallmark. I cannot see the Nadiola dish well enough to see the Hazel Atlas hallmark on the interior of the lid.

Very interesting site and once again thank you miKKo. That is the logo on my lid.
You're most welcome, sir!
I have two of these pieces, and have had them for at least 52 years, given to me by my mother who received them from my grandmother who had them "forever". On one the inside lid has the No. 1886, the symbol in question, the the No. 3 below that. The other inside lid has only the No. 1885 with the same symbol with no number below. Would love to know the value.
