May be a small ash tray? Diamond point texture. Very pretty aqua/turquoise color.

Your right it's an ash tray, made by Fenton in the 1950's. My Mom loved anything in the hobnail pattern, there was always one of these on the coffee table. They show up on Ebay once in awhile for around 5 bucks.

I can remember my mom having bridge club and using these on the table. I like to use them as a master salt container. Ive been told they were master salts but not sure.

Yes it's a master salt. With many of these masters they had the smaller ones to make a set. My Mom collected these things. She had hundreds of them. That kind of glass is called hobnail. They go cheap on ebay, but in a shop they are between $10-$15

I am runningdown a lead that these may have been made by Elson.
