Well I have always had a love for things different. I have had this lamp for some 15+ years, and I acquired it through an old high school friend , whose mom was going to throw her away, and they had it for some years. I have looked and can't or have not found one like her yet. Has anyone else seen one before? Seems to be made out of possibly some kind of clay? She is very heavy. Needless to say they thought she was ugly, but I believe she is beautiful :)
thats really nice ,i was hoping you were from sommerville mass
Thanks lundy. S.C.
yes you are and her to ,any marks on the back of it t y
Lundy,
Thank you, and there are no markings that I can see on her. As a matter of fact I started to wipe her down and looks like she would be all white. Was scared to finish thinking maybe I was wiping off some of her finish. There is a sticker on the light fixture which looks to be original, could I tell something from that you think?
possible ,maybe its plaster ?
Maybe I know its like I guess best way to describe , chalky?
Well it just might be plaster, from what i gather from the label on the fixture it could be from 40's , 50's. It says WESTWOOD FUTURES.
rain here today came from you down there ,
Yeah it was nasty outside all day here yesterday. Perfect today :)
I have the exact same lamp in red with gold highlights/original shade. My parents bought it in the 60's and I wound up with it. My husband hates it and wants me to toss it but I'm reluctant. Any idea on an asking price?
I ACQUIRED THE VERY SAME LAMP TODAY, MINUS THE SHADE.
This one
Beautiful lamp, I'd say she's Indonesian (Balinese) fashioned to the likeness of Shinta (popular stories with Rama) also known as Wayan, Golek. -Soul
