The envelope dates from the early 1900s and was sent from China to the US. However, the wording on the stamps is Japanese. I could not find another Japanese stamp that is the same as these ones. Any help as to the identification of the stamps is appreciated.

The 15th US Infantry spent many years in Tienstin China due to the Boxer Rebellion and follow on Peace Keeping Mission.

The Peace Keepers came from several countries, to include Japan.

I am not that familiar with the actual stamps, but this "history" may explain the use of Japanese stamps on a letter from China, sent to the US.

Thanks Scott! I just looked at the return address and it was from a man named Harry Middleton who listed his address as the 15th US Infantry!
