I'm currently trying to find shades that originally matched these lamps. Can anyone point me to pictures of what they looked like in their natural state? The ones shown are what I scrounged up. Thanks!

UPDATE: I scored a pair of vintage shades- tell me what you think. The bulb size is smaller, but they look as if they were meant for each other.

UPDATE: Here's what the lamp/shade combo look like upright. There's a 3-way bulb in it, so with a 40W bulb, the shade would actually drop another 1/3" or so.

If you want so see some other DM lamps with the original shades, check these out:

      Hey Mythos,
This may sound silly, but there's a Sunday night show on AMC called 'Mad Men'. I like the show a lot. I bring it up because there's a lamp in Don and Megan ( Draper's )apartment that looks very similar to yours. If you watch the show you'll find the lamp on a table at the end of a sofa in the middle of the living room,......if I'm remembering correctly:)
I think that the shade shouldn't be so long that it covers the design of the base.
If I come up with something I'll be in touch.

Thanks for the heads up. The proportions look skewed in the picture, as I didn't have a bulb in the lamp; I just put them together on the floor. Once a bulb was added, it raised the shade over the wood, and made the base look more to scale. I'll try to get a better picture up today.

Your lamps are "Danish Modern" and very nice. My wife and I have a soft spot for this style. I love that you have a pair. It makes it so much more romantic. These could be used on either side of the bed or couch. Personally, I prefer the shade with the circles on it. Try to find matching shades and please use them, if not, these should go to a person that is designing a space with this style. I really like them.

      Hello Mythos,
I was able to check out photos of the TV apartment that I mentioned and saw that the lamps were not at match to yours,......similar, but not the same.
The shades on the TV lamps are made of burlap, or are at least a burlap color.
check out Don Draper's new digs,( that's the title of the page ).
      take care, T
